Alternative Fibroid Treatments – How to Eliminate Fibroids Naturally
If you are interested in using alternative fibroid treatments, you may have already discovered that there are very few doctors who can advise on their use. Indeed, most women who have fibroids are offered surgery or drugs which do nothing but mask the symptoms of fibroids and do nothing to reduce the size of them or prevent new ones forming. There are very few healthcare professionals who know how to treat the actual causes of fibroids and the ones that do can be extremely costly.
As fibroids are very rarely life threatening, they are an ideal condition to treat naturally. If you are considering surgery or are simply wondering whether to resign yourself to years of suffering, then it is certainly worth looking at your options.
One of the reasons why fibroids can be difficult and time consuming to treat is that there is no “one” cause of fibroids. It is thought that fibroids grow by chance as a result of a combination of factors which subtly interact within a woman’s body. It is difficult to say for sure which women will get fibroids as they age, but there are a number of factors which increase the likelihood. Having said this, there can be situations where identical twins who seemingly have similar lifestyles can have different experiences-one could be prone to huge fibroids and the other have none. This is because it can be a very subtle trigger which sets off a chain of events to cause fibroid growth.
It is known that fibroids are fueled by excess estrogen and a high level of this hormone could be responsible for both starting off fibroids in certain women and increasing the size of fibroids in others. Age is another factor. If you are between 30 and 40, you are more likely to have fibroids than at other ages. Afro-Caribbean women are also more likely to have fibroids as are women who have no children or who finished having children at a young age. Hereditary factors are also play a part and women who are prone to inflammatory conditions can also be more likely to have fibroids.
Alternative fibroid treatments can include simple measures like maintaining a healthy weight. Women who are overweight tend to carry excess estrogen as this is manufactured and stored in fat cells. In addition, certain pollutants can mimic estrogen and can become stored in the liver. It therefore follows that a good liver detox can help to remove this which can be beneficial as this can continually fuel fibroid growth. For women who suffer from inflammatory conditions, eating foods which have natural anti-inflammatory properties can be beneficial. Such foods include oats, hops , cumin and rosemary.

Frequently Asked Questions
are fibroids hereditary?
im not sure i have fibroids yet still under going test but its pointing in that direction are they hereditary? myy mum suffers with them
Possibly, my mom and her 3 sisters had them and I had them too. my mom and I both had hysterectomy.
Are fibroids hereditary?
My mother had three large fibroids removed when she was 50.I am 42 and believe I may have the same thing.I had heavy cycles which were severely painful with heavy clotting.I haven’t had a cycle in 8 months. My doctor told me that it was due to premenopause.Alot has happened in my life this past year with deaths of family members, stress, weight gain and a loved one fighting a war overseas.I know I’m getting up there in age but I haven’t lived a hard life and I don’t look or feel old.( this is serious, no mean comments please.)
Doctors are not sure what causes fibroids. But the female hormones estrogen and progesterone seem to make them grow. Your body makes the highest levels of these hormones during the years when you have periods.
Your body makes less of these hormones after you stop having periods (menopause). Fibroids usually shrink after menopause and stop causing symptoms.
Has anyone tried any natural cures for Uterine Fibroids? & Did it really work?
I am concerned that I may have uterine fibroids. My period has changed signifcantly from my norm of 3 days of light bleeding to 1 day of spotting, 2 days of very heavy bleeding (leaking through super plus tampon ever 2 hours), 2 days of regular bleeding and another 2 days of spotting for a total of 7 days now. My period has also changed from every 28 days to every 26 days. Each month my period has gotten longer and heavier. My mother had fibroid tumors and had to have a hysterectomy. It is my understanding fibroids are hereditary. I would like to know about natural obtainable cures that actually work.
i suffer from uterine fibroids, as did my mother, older sister, and 4 of my 1st cousins. one natural cure that i saw and only used once was Cheyenne pepper. one teaspoon at nite in a full glass of water. it is a very hot nasty taste. i battled fibroids for maybe 10 yrs. before i ended up in the er with hemorrhage. i didn’t have a hysterectomy. i had a myomectomy. they cut the fibroid off the outside of my uterus. i have a cut from my naval down, i was in the hospital for 3 days and out of work for 6 wks. the 1st 2 periods were bad and then the were great, but that only can last 6 yrs, its been 8 for me, I’m now starting to have problems again. I’m 48 now and if i have to be cut again i will just have the hysterectomy. a co-worker had a myomectomy, and she went on to have 2 full-term healthy babies. i considered my age at the time. you can get a book of home remedies at a major book store, try some of what you may find in them. good luck! in short do what’s best for you and your lifestyle. you have to live with the results.
I’ve been on the pill for 5 months and half way through the month i’ve started my period?!?!?
– I take microgynon, and my periods are usually completely regular.
– Before I took microgynon, my periods were completely regular.
– My periods are heavy and strong and I have awful cramps which cause increased temperature, bloating, fainting, diarrhoea, vomiting etc
– No painkillers stop my cramps
– Microgynon has had no effect on my flow or cramps.
– Microgynon is supposed to stop me from ovulating or shedding my uterus lining, though at the moment, that is happening.
My mother had:
– A bicornuate uterus which could be hereditary
– Fibroids in her uterus
– Thyroid problems which caused varicose veins
– Not checked if I have a bicornuate uterus yet
-Slightly protruding abdomen which is painful
– I am 18, and have had varicose veins [not as bad as usual] since I was very young, maybe about 8
Anyone know/guess what is wrong?
I think i’m going to go get a scan or something 🙁
After reading over your question, my only advice for you is to go to your doctor and have a professional answer your questions. This sounds rather serious(to me) and it sounds like it needs to be checked. I hope this helps and I hope you are okay,
After years of suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding, I recently was diagnosed withmultiple uterin fibnroids?
