Fibroid Uterus Treatment

Uterine Fibroid Treatment For Intramural Fibroids – The Most Common Uterine Fibroid Tumor

Intra literally means inside, hence intramural fibroids are tumors planted inside the uterine wall. In this article I will be explaining the symptoms and fibroid treatment options available for this most common type of fibroids.

Intramural tumor grows inside the uterine wall resulting in the uterus feeling and looking larger. This can make the woman look pregnant, or have a pot belly which will not go away despite dieting or exercise.

The common symptoms of this type of tumor include:

  • Excessive bleeding
  • Pain in the Pelvic region and back
  • Frequent urination
  • May be responsible for infertility and miscarriages
  • Pressure in the bladder and uterus

Based on whether the intramural fibroids are close to the outside of the uterus or the endometrium, the symptoms will be similar to submucosal or subserous fibroids.

In extreme cases if the size of these fibroids is large, it may block the blood supply, oxygen and nutrients to other body organs like kidneys. In some patients very large intramural fibroids may also cause permanent damage to the kidneys.

Medical research has indicated that this type offibroid can have a negative impact on the woman’s fertility and result in miscarriages. Woman with this problem are also at a greater risk of undergoing premature delivery or a caesarean.

Intramural uterine fibroid treatment options are:

1. Abdominal myomectomy is the most common intramural fibroid treatment option. This treatment is particularly recommended if

a) The size of the fibroids are more 5 or 7 centimeters, or

b)There are multiple fibroids which need to be removed.

  • Uterine Artery Embolization is the second fibroids treatment option which can be considered.

Women with fibroids normally respond extremely well to natural remedies. This is true in case of intramural fibroids also. In rarest of cases where the fibroids can be life threatening or the symptoms severe, it would be worthwhile to pursue surgery or hormonal uterine fibroid treatment option. In all other cases fibroid cures is possible with natural remedies. In my opinion you should first give a try to natural methods to shrink your fibroids.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
what is the medical treatment for fibroid in uterus during pregnancy?

    • ANSWER:
Utrine fibroids are treated with medicines (Ibuprofen, gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists) and surgery (myomectomy, hysterectomy, uterine fibroid embolization and ExAblate2000 system.
A main concern for women with uterine fibroids is that they will inhibit fertility or make pregnancy impossible. Though uterine fibroids can make it difficult to become or maintain a pregnancy, the majority of women never have any problems.
After a pregnancy is established, existing fibroids may grow due to the increased blood flow and estrogen levels. These usually return to their original size after the baby has been delivered.
Most women are able to carry their babies to term, but some of them end up delivering prematurely because there is not enough room in the uterus.
Cesarean section may be needed for delivery since fibroid tumors can occasionally block the birth canal or cause the baby to be positioned wrong. After menopause, new fibroids rarely develop and those already present usually shrink.
Consult your gynecologist regarding medical treatment during pregnancy.

  2. QUESTION:
3″ fibroid on top of uterus — treatment?
    Hello, all:

On Monday, an ultrasound revealed that I have a 3 inch wide fibroid embedded in the top of my uterus. I’ve been having heavy periods with clotting and bursts of fresh blood for the last couple of years, but no pain to speak of. Thanks to the ultrasound, I now know what was causing the menstrual irregularities.

I know that sometimes cutting off the blood supply to a fibroid is an option, but this one looks like part of it is inside the uterine wall. (The ultrasound tech let me view the images from the scan.) Does this make a hysterectomy a more likely form of treatment?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to respond.
ETA: Thank you, Keltasia (((hugs back))). I’m sure it will turn out all right, but… yeah. Major surgery. Not something I’m looking forward to.

Does anyone have experience in homeopathic treatments for fibroid tumors of the uterus?
I have a dear friend who is considering surgery in the near future. We do not live near a homeopathic pratictioner but she is very interested in holistic and homeopathic treatment.

    • ANSWER:
Here is a Homeopathic prescription for tumors of the Uterus SULFUR & BRYONIA both in 200 together on the first day but just two doses per week on the second day BELLADONNA + PODOPHYLUM and CAULOPHYLLUM all 3 in 200, again just twice a week but not on the same day when you take the 1st two SULFUR and BRYONIA and take these cell salts every four hours regularly FERRUM PHOS 6X,CALCAREA FLOUR 6 X KALI MUR 6X and SILICEA 6X,
Keep me posted about her progress and conditions regularly at least once a week. Though I have given you the prescription but it will be lots better if the patient describes her own symptoms in detail, Homeopathy is totally invidualized medication so its absolutely necassary that the patient gives all details the way they feel them. Feel free to email me.
Take Care and God Bless you !

  4. QUESTION:
Has anyone been diagnosed with Fibroid on the uterus? Please tell me what the treatment is. Thank you?

    • ANSWER:

  5. QUESTION:
What treatment do you recommend for fibroid tumors?
I was diagnosed with having fibroid tumors back in April. I have two tumors the size of golf balls on my uterus, so far non cancerous. I have some pain and discomfort and heavy uncontrolled bleeding spells. My gyn acts like it’s no big deal, but I don’t like feeling this way all the time. Does anyone have any advice?

    • ANSWER:
The only treatment for fibroid tumors is surgery. All it is, is thick tissue that causes pain. I had them too and after a while, they had to be removed because they got so big. There’s no pill to make them go away. If you feel pain from them, use a warm heating pad and it really eases up the pain. Good luck
