Taking Women's Health Problems Seriously

Is It Possible to Shrink Uterine Fibroid Tumors Naturally? Simple Home Uterine Fibroid Treatment Tips

Almost 30% of women suffer from fibroids at some point of time in their lives. This 30% does not include cases which remain undiagnosed. This aspect of fibroid tumors makes the treatment for uterine fibroids all the more difficult. In case fibroids are detected in the early stages when the tumor is small in size, natural uterine fibroid treatment is very effective.

Research has indicated that fibroids are particularly common among African American women. Fibroid tumor size ranges from the size of a peanut to grapefruit. In some cases these tumors cause no symptoms. In others there could be a variety of symptoms including heavy periods, abdominal pain, pressure on the rectum and bloating.

Many natural treatment methods are available these days to shrink uterine fibroid tumors. In fact more and more women are opting for natural treatment for uterine fibroids. Natural treatment primarily involves

a) Understanding our body and how it responds to what we eat

b) Understanding the effects of environmental factors on our health and

c) Paying attention to our diet.

If you wish to shrink uterine fibroid tumors naturally you must pay particular attention to:

Environmental factors

There are a number of harmful estrogen mimicking compounds derived from environmental toxins and pesticide residues. These compounds often get locked in our liver and fuel the growth of fibroids. A number of chemicals contained in washing detergents and cosmetics also mimic estrogen. Plastic containers which we make use of in our daily life to store food and water also release these estrogen mimicking chemicals. To stay away from fibroids it makes sense to switch over to chemical free detergents and cosmetics and start using glass containers for food and water storage.

Food

Fresh fruits are loaded with vitamins and bio- flavanoids. Kiwi fruit and blueberries are especially useful for fibroid cure. In general ensure that you eat 4-5 servings of fresh seasonal fruits each day. Make sure that you wash them thoroughly and eat it with the skin in raw form wherever possible. Similarly include fresh raw vegetables in your diet. In case you find it difficult to consume raw vegetables, steam it lightly. Do not overcook as it may result in loss of essential nutrients.

Onion and garlic are particularly useful in uterine fibroid treatment. Eating unhealthy processed foods adds to toxins being accumulated in our body. This can also contribute to fibroids. Hence it is best if you eat fresh foods and stay away from prepackaged variety.

Liver Detox

In case your liver is not functioning properly excess estrogen will remain trapped in the body. This in turn will boost the growth of fibroids. Therefore most natural uterine fibroid treatment methods lay emphasis on liver detoxification. Taking liver-supporting herbs like lemon juice, dandelion root, milk thistle and turmeric as a part of your daily diet can also be very useful.

I have been told that I may have fibroid tumors but I don’t exactly know what they are. I know that it is connected to my menstrual cycle. When I get my period, I have excruciating cramps and discomfort. I throw up excessively and I tend to pass out. However, I am only 17 years old. Any suggestions?

Natural herbs, vitamins or foods succesfully used to shrink uterine fibroid tumors

See your GYN and stop the nonsense

  3. QUESTION:
What can you tell me about uterine fibroid tumors?,,,?
that are out of control.I want to avoid surgery if I can. They are too big to laser out.

    • ANSWER:
I’m 42 years old. I have two fibroids – 54mm and 22mm. I’m just having heavy bleeding (3 days). The doctor told me not to do any surgery they will shrink when I go into menopause. Also, I had to come off of the pill as the fibroid feeds on the hormones in the pill.

I still use herbal medicine though – it helps with the pain and clotting – but I’m all the way in Guyana, South America.

  4. QUESTION:
Are all uterine fibroid tumors benign?
I read an article about the Octomom who is having fibroids removed. She claims they can become precancerous, and I wonder if she is correct.

    • ANSWER:
A cancerous fibroid tumor is almost unheard of. I think the last I saw any kind of statistics on them, it was way less than even 1%. Fibroid tumors are benign, estrogen dependant growths that most doctors will recommend leaving alone as long as they aren’t causing other problems. The most common problem they cause are heavy periods, and that’s what leads most ladies to have them treated. Unfortunately, fibroids are also one of the leading reasons for elective hysterectomies too. Usually if the ladies can hang out until menopause, the lack of estrogen will cause most of them to shrink, sometimes a good many will disappear too. I think octomom just wants to justify some sort of procedure. Given that she was able to carry eight babies nearly to term without major problems, I’m highly doubtful she would have had much problem with fibroid tumors. Sorry, but this one smells funny. Personally, I think if they get anywhere near her reproductive organs, maybe a hysterectomy wouldn’t be such a bad idea. I know that’s ugly, but I can’t see where it’s to anyone’s benefit to help “save” any of them for future use. Seems to me she has already gotten her share and a few other ladies. If she has fibroids, maybe nature is telling her something. But as I said, I kind of doubt it. Back to your question though, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cancerous or even pre-cancerous fibroid tumor. Seen lots of hysterectomies done for them, never saw one go bad. And I’ve been in the field for quite some time.

  5. QUESTION:
    Large uterine fibroid tumors?
Did anyone who had large fibroid tumors in uterus successfully go another route than surgery to deal with the problem of pain, etc. My gyne told me my uterus has doubled in size since Januaary, I have two large fibroids, and there is no other option than partial hysterectomy. I’m in lots of discomfort as my uterus is pushing against my bladder and stomach but I would like to avoid surgery if possible. Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
my mother had fibrioid tumors. she had to have a hysterectomy. they had to take out her uterus and one of her ovaries. she also didnt want to have the surgery but she is so glad she had it done because now she never has to deal with those tumors or her period ever again.
im not sure what else doctors could do about fibroid tumors.
good luck and hang in there !!

Great informative article. Thanks. My fibroids shrunk after my second C section. They evdn got calcified. The radiologist told me not to go for any surgery even if the doctors advice it. My mother had to undergo hysterectomy as her fibroid had become as massive as a coconut and was pressing on some nerves because of which she couldn’t even walk. The surgery then did her good.
