Fibroid Pain Relief

                                         Fibroid Pain Relief

Fibroids are benign tumors that are developed in the uterus. As these are benign tumors, they are not precursors of any cancerous activities. They are very common and are present in women of the age group of 25-35 years. Fibroids are more widespread in African American women as compared to any other. Black women have 50% more probability of having fibroids as compared to white women. They may occur singly as well as in groups. They range in size from microscopic to macroscopic. Although, fibroids usually are small, yet sometimes they become so big that they can even block the uterus.

Regarding the causes of fibroids, there is nothing known. The causes of fibroids are still not identified. On the other hand, their growth is attributed to some hormonal changes. Estrogen plays a significant role in the development of uterine fibroids. As long as women are menstruating, their body will keep on producing estrogen. Therefore, they will have a high likelihood of developing fibroids. Owing to this reason, women who have reached menopause don’t develop fibroids. No menstruation means no estrogen and hence no chances of having fibroids.  Keep this fact in your mind that after menopause, any tumor in women is a solid indicator of cancer.

As mentioned above, fibroids are mostly small and innocuous. Nevertheless, occasionally the size of fibroids increases to such an extent that it really becomes a nuisance. Large-size fibroids can cause a lot of pain and discomfort to the sufferer. Fibroids can cause pain in a number of ways. These fibroids can either laterally push the visceral organ or they may press a nerve. In the former condition, the patient experiences pain in the abdomen while in the latter case there is a severe back pain. From here you can see that fibroids and back pain are also somewhat related with each other. Menstrual pain can also be one of the pains caused by these colossal fibroids. Sometimes, the uterus tries to eject the fibroid as it consider fibroid as foreign entity. This result in severe pain and is very much comparable to labor pains.

There a number of schemes you can bring into play, to have fibroid pain relief. Some of these schemes are as follow;

  • The first tip is to take bath in warm water. It will de-congest the abdominal area and will relax the contracted muscles. You will definitely experience a significant decrease in pain.
  • Oils of lavender, juniper and rosemary are very essential in relieving pelvic pain. Adding a few drops of these oils in your bath water will help you in achieving desired results. Back pain from uterine fibroids is effectively treated through this scheme.
  •   Castor-oil pack is one of the effective methods of shrinking fibroids. The natural composition of castor oil is such that it can significantly decrease the size of fibroids.
