How to Stop Fibroid Growth

If you have fibroids and suffer from the symptoms which they cause, you may be wondering how to stop fibroid growth. Perhaps you are aware from the size of your abdomen and other symptoms that they are continuing to grow and cause proble 00004000 ms.

There are a number of strategies you can adopt to prevent the condition worsening, and these generally revolve around looking at the possible root causes of fibroids and trying to eliminate them. The simple logic being that if you remove what has actually fueled the fibroid growth, there will be nothing for them to “feed off” and therefore further growth should not happen.

One of the main causes of fibroid growth is excess estrogen. Although not all women with excess estrogen will develop fibroids, it is often a significant contributory factor in those women who do have the condition.

There are two “forms” of estrogen which can affect fibroid growth-that which is produced naturally by the body and estrogen-mimicking compounds (Phthalates) which can become “locked” in the liver, constantly fueling fibroid growth.

To stop fibroid growth, natural estrogen can be reduced in a number of ways. Avoid taking the birth control pill and, if you are overweight, it is sensible to get down to your recommended BMI by following a healthy diet and exercise plan. Exercise can help to get the endocrine system working effectively and this will help to stop fibroids growing further.

Estrogen mimicking compounds can be found all around us. Phthalates are present in many everyday substances of which soft plastics are an integral part, including flooring, soft-soled shoes, luggage, disposable gloves and many other everyday items. It is also present in pesticides and many cleaning materials. It is therefore good practice to avoid contact with foods which have been stored in soft plastic containers and cling-film. In addition, be very careful about which cleaning products you use-it might make sense to use “eco-friendly” products.

Although cutting down on your contact with Phthalates will undoubtedly help, if you would like to know how to stop fibroid growth, it is essential that you eliminate any of these estrogen mimicking compounds which have built up in the liver duing years of unwitting use of soft plastics and contact with pesticides and cleaning agents. The best way to do this is to follow a robust liver detox which includes herbs specifically recommended for liver detoxing, such as Liverwort, Dandelion and Milk Thistle Seed.

Frequently Asked Questions

what are the other natural options to get rid of fibroid aside from hysterectomy, embolization?
have 1 big fibroid and 7 babies fibroids, what are the natural or inexpensive treatment or ways to shrink the bigger one and is pills good for a year to slow down my menstrual cycle?

    • ANSWER:
The pill might help make them grow more slowly, but nothing will get rid of them except hysterectomy, embolization, or myomectomy (removal of just the fibroids). Or, well, I guess you could go on Lupron to shrink them. But that’s not natural or inexpensive. If I were you i’d go for embolization.

What are treatment options for uterine fibroid cysts?

    • ANSWER:

With 5 fibroid tumors, what are my wife’s options?
My wife is 36, Hispanic, and has been diagnosed with 5 fibroid tumors on the outer uterine wall. The largest is 3cmX4cm. There is a history of this in her family.

She’s meeting with a surgeon, but that is more than a week away.

What kind of options is she going to have?

    • ANSWER:
Hysterectomy! My mom had a hysterectomy! And so did my grandmother, great grandmother, and great aunt! I just can’t wait to grow up!

I had an ultrasound scan & it showed 5cm submucosal fibroid. What treatment options do I have?
I also have Factor V Leiden & Lupus anticoagulant. Due to these, ANY kind of hormone therapy is not allowed. I’m 32 and have no children. I would like to be able to have them if I can (someday). My Dr says to “wait & see”. Anemia, pelvic pain, pressure, heavy bleeding & large clots are unbearable & I’m confined to bed for 24-48 hours of my period. I only have symptoms during my period, the rest of the month – I am fine. Pain has persisted for at least 8 months.
cannot take Lupron, it is a hormone. Factor V Leiden patients cannot take hormones due to the increased risk of blood clots.

    • ANSWER:
Have you tried asking if you are a candidate for a myomectomy? A myomectomy is a surgery to remove just the fibroid itself. As a note, if they actually have to cut into the cavity of your uterus during the surgery, you will not be able to deliver any future babies vaginally. So as long as you can live with having a C-Section when you have a baby, this could be an option for you.

If surgery is not an option, you could try a drug called Lupron, which sometimes is useful for shrinking the fibroid and relieving your symptoms.

What the best way to rid Fibroid Tumors?
My doctor said I might have fibroid tumors. We havent talked about any of it yet but I have looked online at different options. What can I do short from having a hestorectomy?

    • ANSWER:
With todays medical advances hysterectomy should be your last option if you are truly dealing with Uterine Fibroid Tumors.

I would recommend going to to do some research on the different options you have.

There are a couple things you can consider doing surgically through laproscopic techniques to reduce or remove the fibroids.
You will probably need to do an Ultrasound and/or an MRI to help you & your doctor determine the best procedure to consider.

I will say take the wait and see approach for a little bit before deciding to surgically remove them. If they don’t grow quickly you might never have any need to do anything more than adjust your food & supplement intake. The should stop growing after menopause since they feed on estrogen.

You do want to decrease caffeine and chocolates, eat less animal protein and normalize your hormones.

There is a great book I use for natural therapies and helps. You might see if you can get your hands on it to do some quick research. It’s called Healthy Healing by Linda Page. Or go to a good health food store and ask them if they have any information / products that can help.

YOU HAVE LOTS OF CHOICES and should not be afraid of this diagnosis. You don’t have to lose your uterus and can still have babies.

      Hope this helps

There is another helpful website I’d like to share

Baptist Hospital in Miami offers another solution not listed yet. It is called Uterine Artrery Embolization. (UFE). They have found there is one artery which supplies the fibroids in the Uterus. Through a laproscopic procedure they inject very small pellets into this artery to block the blood flow. When this happens the tumors will shrink and/or die.

One thing that I’ve learned is you can remove or have the UFE performed today but if your continue to produce fibroids you will have to deal with this again later.

So you will have to think about childbirth today and what you think you would want to do in the future when making this decision.
