  2. QUESTION:
What causes heavy menstrual bleeding for about a month?
Last month my period lasted about four weeks, I didn’t think much of it because it was very light and I figured it was just a freak thing. However, I have been bleeding for about four weeks and its a lot heavier and doesn’t really seem like it is going to stop anytime soon. I saw my doctor and she recommended I see a gynecologist so I called but they said that there weren’t any available appointments soon. I would kind of like to know what is going on and don’t want to have to wait that long so any information that you may have would be great.

Also i have not had sex ever so it’s not because of an abortion or a miscarriage or a pregnancy. I did recently get the HPV vaccine and my mom thinks it could be related but I checked some websites and it wasn’t one of the side effects.
I’m also getting blood clots about the size of a walnut with the shell so fairly big.

    • ANSWER:
      PLEASE!
Contact the gynecologist office again and relate to them whats happening in detail. Insist on an appointment within a week.

  3. QUESTION:
do steroids for asthma cause heavy menstrual bleeding?
i was prescribed steroids (pill) for asthma and they have caused all sorts of secondary effects,my mouth is always dry ,I have nose bleeds ,my hands shake and after taking then i always feel dizzy. And the worts is my period was a lot heavier than usual,I can actually call it hemorrhages as it has been so bad.
    is this normal?

    • ANSWER:
Dry mouth is common and mild dizziness as well. But I think you should call your doctor first thing Monday as it sounds to me like you’re sensitive to the dose or the drug in general.

  4. QUESTION:
What are the probable causes of moderately heavy bleeding in between menstrual cycles?

    • ANSWER:
could be any number of things…. if you are on birth control that can sometimes cause bleeding, if you are sexually active you could be having a miscarriage, or it could be some sort of infection or std. of course it could also just be that you are having your period early depending on how long it has been sense your last one. if you are sure that’s not it then you should probably see a dr and find out for sure what is causing it. good luck to ya

  5. QUESTION:
Can hypothyrodism cause heavy menstrual bleeding, as well as bleeding between periods?
I went to the gynecologist the last time this happened (I bleed for two months). They did a pelvic sonogram said nothing was found. The gynecologist said it was probably due to me being overweight. A lot of overweight family members and friends say this has never happened to them. I am on 200mcg of synthroid. A month ago my TSH was in the 20’s. This is where it was when I was initially tested over a year ago, then I was put on 125mcg and it dropped my TSh was in the low teens.
    Thanks for any info,

    • ANSWER:
Sure it can. It can cause heavy bleeding and it can cause you to have 2 periods in one month to no period at all. Why not call your doctor and ask him to retest your thyroid. I know how a thyroid can screw up your period. My mother and both of my sisters have thyroid problems. Maybe your medication needs adjustment. Good luck hon:))
