Pain From Ovarian Cysts – How Acupuncture And Chinese Herbs Can Help
Any women who has suffered pain from ovarian cysts knows how acute the pain can be and how the symptoms associated with cysts such as bloating, back pain, irregular period and nausea, can be extremely draining and leave her feeling completely wrung out and miserable.
Conventional medicine tends to offer birth control pills, pain killers and, at worst, surgery as her only options for treatment. But the modern day woman is no longer satisfied with this course of action. She doesn’t necessarily want to be taking birth control pills, particularly if she wants to get pregnant, and she is worried of possible side effects with long term usage of any painkillers. The trouble with conventional medicine is that it only masks the symptoms and fails to get to the root of the problem. Whilst it deals with the pain from ovarian cysts, it is only a temporary solution.
More women are looking for alternative treatments that work naturally with their bodies and that don’t produce another set of side effects. Two such treatments are acupuncture and herbs. Chinese medicine views cysts as a collection of stagnant fluid and blood. Whilst it is not life threatening, it is a disruption to the normal bodily processes. Women who have cysts have a hormonal imbalance and are not ovulating regularly. Acupuncture is used to bring balance to the menstrual cycle and hormones and can directly affect ovulation. There are several different acupuncture techniques to help improve the blood flow to the reproductive organs, whilst at the same time optimising ovulation.
Chinese herbs may also be used to help dissolve painful ovarian cysts. Women who generically tend to have cysts may have a set of symptoms that accompany this condition and this could be a sluggish digestion which is causing the body to create excess mucus and dampness. An inefficient digestive system can lead to the formation of dampness in various parts of the body and ovarian cysts. Herbs can be used to improve the digestive system and drain the damp parts that are causing the body to develop points of stagnation.
Acupuncture and herbs are only a small part of the natural treatments that can be used to deal with pain from ovarian cysts and also help to get rid of them completely. No woman should have to endure pain from ovarian cysts month after month nor should she have to keep taking tablets that could be damaging to her health.
So many women are led to believe that medication and surgery are their only options, but trust me when I tell you that alternative and natural treatments can work to effectively relieve the pain from ovarian cysts and dissolve them away.

Dr. John Lee had great success in treating them with bioidentical progesterone. It opposes the estrogen, and balances out the effects. You can read more at his website http://www.johnleemd.com

uterine fibroids?
vitamins & herbs for uterine fibroids?

ANSWER:
hello there, yes i had them and dealt w/them for a few yrs. after awhile they just got bigger (1 cm per yr.) and one was pressing on my bladder and had to use the bathroom CONSTANTLY.
The year b4 I had my surgery (myomectomy) I got accupuncture 1-2 times a month and it really did help A LOT. He also gave me my own individually designed herbal concoction that I took–like one or two tab. daily. they would temporarity reduce after the accupuncture treatments and give me some relief b4 the next visit.
the smaller the better, and the sooner you treat them the better. If they are small you have the opportunity to have your doc remove them/out patient procedure.
but major surgery wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be. it was the fear that was the most difficult to deal with, but well worth the operation.
cut down on caffeine, it’s horrible for fibroids. however i actually noticed i had less pain back then if i drank organic coffee
cut down on sugars and fats, but MOST OF ALL, ANY MEATS you eat, esp. beef, or any meat, make SURE it’s organic. all that hormone junk they have in those store bought meats irritate fibroids terribly. eat a lot of fresh fruits, veggies, seafood, beans, soy milk.
oh and watch out for dairy, esp. cheese.

QUESTION:
Uterine Fibroids and Breast Cysts
Hello All,
I have uterine fibroids and breast cysts. I am estrogen dominant and began taking steps to repair the damage. I have begun exercising as well as changing my diet free from red meats, dairy and coffee. My doctor and I discussed possible options and since I am fairly young (36), invasive procedures are not beneficial for me since I plan (hope) to have more children and the Fibroids are not yet severely large enough to cause serious damage, however they are uncomfortable.I also don’t want to take Hormone Therapy due to side affects and my age.
I researched online various sites advising the use of Natural Herbs to reduce and shrink Fibroids, but there are so many I want to know which herbs are BEST or more EFFECTIVE at eliminating Fibroids.
I understand that using Natural Herbs it will take abit of a longer time to reduce the Fibroids and I’m ok with that, I just want to “pin-point” the BEST and MOST EFFECTIVE herbs to obtain.I’ve read the following are good choices:
Vitex (Chasteburry)
Milk Thistle
Lady’s Mantle
Dandelion root
FlaxseedPlease if I’ve missed anything please let me know or advise the best most effective herb remedy to use. Thanks everyone in advance, greatly appreciate it!

ANSWER:
Goodness, you could be my “female problem identical twin”! Please, please, please, do not remove your uterus. You are not going to like me for this, but I am going to recommend that you go to a Reproductive Gynecological Doctor. They will help you repair the mess your body has made, all the while, ensuring that your fertility will be kept in tact. There is surgery you can have to remove them without doing lots of damage to the uterus.

ANSWER:
Understand that you don’t want surgery due to the desire for more kids – but having had this problem myself, I advise you to take one more thing into consideration – your quality of life should you go for the herbal remedy. You could spend years trying various herbs with the accompanying discomfort, and end up in surgery after all of that. I had surgery and never looked back as I felt great again!

QUESTION:
Have you dealt with your uterine fibroids using CAM techniques?
By CAM, I of course I mean complimentary & alternative medicine.
I just found out that the menstrual chaos I’ve been suffering from is due to uterine fibroids. I don’t like any of my allopathic options. I don’t like the pill because I believe that forcing fake hormones into my body is not a good idea for me. I don’t want to have any of the surgeries because either a) the fibroids will probably just come back, or b) I may become infertile. I always say I never want children & I’ve never had a relationship but I still have at least 10 years left of potential & the thought of ruining it forever is a bit scary. What if some bizarre miracle happens & I meet someone that I want to be with & have kids with?
So I’m wondering if anyone out there has been successful in dealing with fibroids naturally. Perhaps with acupuncture, herbs, supplements, etc. Even progesterone cream would be a better option.
Or, maybe just answer how you DID deal with them, & if it worked, no matter what it was.-
ANSWER:
I have friends who have had fibroids but they have never done anything with complementary alternative treatments. I would recommend checking for a gynecologist that does alternative treatments (they are available in some towns) to see what kind of options they might recommend.I did read of a newer way to treat fibroids using ultrasound that was supposed to be very promising.
I have the link to a site that may help you find even more information. It’s at: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health
