After about 10 years of eating ice due to anemia and having no energy and periods that warrented 2 boxes of super plus tampons a week with periods lasting for at least 2 weeks and finally having a uterus the size of a cantalope, I knew I had to have something done.
My sister with a problem similar to mine had a proceedure done called imbulization. Went in in the morning, was awake during the proceedure and stayed over night. It took about 6 months but my periods were reduced drastically to where I only used a few tampons a day and no back up or anything. I have had many surgeries and never loss any of my hair. The only thing I noticed was really dry skin. A good moisturizing lotion fixed the problem in no time. Rest when needed after surgery while your healing. I don’t mean lye around constantly, keep moving and its great for your circulation and prevents you from feeling stiff. QUESTION:
Will my fibroids need removed before another pregnancy?
I know this is something I will discuss with my doctor, but thought some might have experience. My C-Section surgeon found some fibroids on my uterus while delivering the baby. Is this something that will need taken care of before I get pregnant again? I know they can get larger with pregnancy because of the blood supply, but just curious. Thanks!-

I would ask advice from your doctor. It really depends on the size of the fibroids. I had fibroids that was so bigger it cause me to have miscarriage twice. Yours probably not worst like mine. Most people have small fibroids that does not cause any problems. good luck.

My sister just got her fibroids removed how is she feeling immediately after the surgery?-
ANSWER:
Fibroids from where? I have had 1 removed from each breast. It was tender to the touch for a few weeks (awful if you got bumped) but after about 5 hrs and anesthetics wore off i felt fine and hungry 🙂 they give you pain pills too. Much better than waiting and hoping they don’t develop to cancer! hope she feels better!

ANSWER:
Yes, I had a 6 cm fibroid removed by surgery recently (4 months ago). Before surgery, I had been in A LOT of pain with heavy bleeding. My surgery was outpatient, could have returned to work in 3-4 days, but got sick on the antibiotics (out one week). I would definitely do it again, wish I had done it sooner!! I am doing great, haven’t felt this good in a long time. I was 47 at time of surgery, have since turned 48. Hopefully I’ll hit menopause before anything grows back. If your Dr. says you’re a candidate for surgery, go for it! I have no regrets. My GYN is very proactive & very encouraging. She hated to see me in such pain. By the way, the same GYN performed surgery for endo. back in 1990, very successfully.
P.S. My GYN wanted to do the surgery ASAP, as it was still small enough to be removed vaginally. If it had grown too much, it would have been a different procedure, or I could have bled out.
