Fibroids Bleeding During Pregnancy

Uterine Fibroids During Pregnancy – Are You Pregnant With A Fibroid?

If you have fibroids and thinking about starting a family, you may be wondering about the effects of uterine fibroids during pregnancy. Although there can be consequences, most women who are pregnant with fibroid tumors have successful pregnancies.

However, being prepared and having some knowledge of the circumstances where this could be an issue is wise as it is undeniable that in a small number of cases, problems can occur. There are two main issues surrounding fibroids during pregnancy-Size and Location.

* Size – Larger fibroids can cause problems particularly when located just underneath the uterine lining (submucosal). These can distort the inside of the uterine cavity to such an extent that it makes implantation impossible. Alternatively, even if implantation occurs, an early miscarriage can happen, often before the woman even realizes she is pregnant. If a successful pregnancy happens, larger fibroids can cause complications such as bleeding, longer and more complicated deliveries and premature birth, as the growing baby fights for space.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
do fibroids tend to bleed and cause pain during pregnancy. what can one do to keep the bleeding and pain down.

    • ANSWER:
Go to the doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anytime that you’re bleeding during your pregnancy you have to get it checked out!

  2. QUESTION:
Has anyone had Botox for hyperhidrosis during pregnancy?
I had a pregnancy test done the day of my injection of botox to treat hyperhidrosis. The test was negative. Two weeks later… I tested possitive for pregnancy, but I have already had the injection.

My husband and I had been trying since December to get pregnant with no luck. I had no reason to believe I was even going to get pregnant because I was bleeding every other week for the past 4 months due to fibroids. I was bleeding the day of the injection (and I never knew if it was my period or my fibroids because they were the same flow).

I was having some strange symptoms and just out of curiousity I took a hpt thinking it would definately be negative… but it wasn’t! I am horrified! Although we wanted to have a child I am terrified that I have damaged my child in some horrible way! I went to the doctor today and nobody knows anything about it because there aren’t any studies on humans.

Please… if anyone has ever had botox during pregnancy tell me your outcome!
Thanks for your response… but my problem is that I already had the botox… I was bleeding the day I got it and I had (just in case) took a pregnancy test that morning which was negative. My enormous concern is that I already had this procedure… and never suspected a pregnancy this month since my doctor and my hpt was negative and I was bleeding.

  3. QUESTION:
can you have a menstrual like blood flow during pregnancy?
k here goes… i am 25 with one child and two previous pregnancies. with both my pregnancies i ceased to have a period im guessing on conception. as of recently i have been feeling quite…. pregnant. i wake up feeling like a train wreck, early morning nausea, dizziness, CONSTANT fatigue, and evening time EXTREMELY strange cravings.. my nipples are noticeably darker and sensitive and i have the same butterfly feeling down there as before… and have the same cramps (from fibroids) that i had with my son, very centered. there is a ton of heat coming from down there and my uterus is high and soft. i started what i am speculating may be a menstrual cycle, a couple of days ago- only one day early before the usual. thing is up until my cycle, i have been wet and ‘gushy’ inside, unlike the usual dry spell. the blood flow started extremely heavy, with a few very tiny clots (like unusually smaller than normal, i have nevr seen them that small) and up until now only 2 days later has progressively tapered down to a clear watery sticky substance with streaks of blood. does anyone think i need to worry? being logical and knowing the hormone cycle i realize it is not possible to have a ‘true’ cycle during pregnancy but i’m just wondering has anyone else had a mimic menstrual cycle during pregnancy? or perhaps have suggestions as to what is causing these different symtoms. i have no rash or burning sensation and i’m happily married if you know what i mean so that pretty much rules out PID. just wondering if anyone thinks i should go invest in a pregnancy test… have any other mommies experienced this degree of bleeding?

    • ANSWER:
Take a test. If it’s positive, you need to go to the doctor. It’s possible you just had an early miscarriage, and you need to be checked.

If that was an early miscarriage, you will still get positive tests for as long as a couple of months.

  4. QUESTION:
    Mirena coil bleeding problems?
I have had problems with this for two years now I bleed almost once a week for a day or two, it starts after sex or even during sex. Gp has ruled out infections, pregnancy, fibroids etc.

I also suffer from panic attacks, vertigo and skin and hair problemsd which i read online that can be caused by the mirena. I’ve just made an appointment to get the damn thing removed because basically i want my life back. Anyone else had similar experiences? What form of contraception is best to go nto next? I was on the pill years ago and that never had these problems.

    • ANSWER:
I hated my mirena. I stuck with it for 2 years as it felt like my last option to sort out period pain. I know some people swear by the mirena but I am not one of them. I put on weight because I was always ravenous, I was also very emotional and the worst part was having 10 day long periods in a 20 day cycle.

It was such a relief to get it removed. I really do not get on with hormonal contraceptives, so I’m back to condoms now and I have to say I feel so much better its worth a little extra bother. My partner much prefers for me to be more happy, less hormonal, with fewer, shorter periods than complain about using condoms!

  5. QUESTION:
submucosal fibroid that is 6cm, how bad is that?
My wife is 6 weeks pregnant. We found out that she has a submucosal fibroid that is 6cm (along with several other fibroids). We are both 35 years old. This is first pregnancy. We are very scared about this fibroid. How likely is it that these fibroids will compromise pregnancy? She is concerned about the risk of bleeding to death during childbirth (among other things).

    • ANSWER:
hey, i cant answer your question but i did want to write an answer just to let you know that someone actually read it. better luck next time and i hope your problem was resolved.
