Is this pain from fibroid tumor?
I gave birth via c-section after 14 hours of labor 4 months ago. I was told I had a grapefruit sized fibroid tumor. (not sure the location at this time)
I’ve gotten my monthly and oh my gosh. Now that I know what labor feels like: that’s how painful my periods are. I seriously think I’m in labor! No wonder why I did it medication free for 14 hours.
I’m also having BAD hip pain. Its worse now with my period but has been hurting since giving birth. Its only in my right hip. Feels like someone’s trying to rip out my hip bone.
Coud these 2 things be from the tumor?

A grapefruit sized tumor is huge. Hasn’t your doctor talked to you about it????
I just had my uterus removed in December because I was full of tumors, but not that big. Golf ball. And I had so many I felt “full” all the time. I also had low back pain and the last year had a hard time having bowel movements because the tumor was pressing into my rectum. I didn’t know it either. I just thought i needed more fiber in my diet. I had an ultrasound and there it was. So, I had the surgery and it was a breeze. No regrets.
Having just the fibroid removed usually doesn’t help because they grow back.
Honestly, talk to your doctor about this issue.
As far as the hip pain, that could be a pressed sciatic nerve there from the labor. I’d see a chiropractor.

Pregnant, ultrasound shows a fibroid?
I am 20 weeks pregnant. During ultrasound it was discovered I have a small fibroid (5cm) in my uterus.
My doctor didn’t seem overly concerned, but I have to have it monitored for changes in size and location.
I wasn’t worried, still not really, but when I told a friend today she got me a bit worked up about it.
She is good at doing that to people, so I am not freaking out but I was still wondering…
What are possible complications?
Has anyone else had a fibroid and what was your experience?

Don’t get worked up yet. Here’s my story:
I was told the same. I was told I would need a hysterectomy when our child was born. I had difficulties and was sent for a high definition ultrasound. They found I had partially delivered her umbilical cord and needed to deliver within a few days. That night I passed a large mass like a golf ball. Next day at the hospital they did another ultrasound and found the fibroid gone. I delivered the baby. A doctor came in and asked to talk to us. He said fibroids don’t walk away. The assumption was made that it had been an undeveloped twin. We had twins a year later.
Here’s my friend’s story:
She was told she had a fibroid. After the baby was born they went for another ultrasound and found it was still there. The doctor told her to wait a while and see how she felt. After a while she ahd little to no pain, so it was decided to do nothing. It is still there, she’s had three more kids, and all are healthy.
So, your situation is not necessarily the end all. Be open minded. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. There is literature the doctor can give you as well to help you understand more about fibroids.

QUESTION:
My doctor says I can’t have a baby because of fibroids!?
I’ve suspected fibroids for a while now. I got an ultrasound last month and yesterday, my doctor told me that I have three big ones and some small ones and because of the location of the fibroid, the only way I can remove them is to remove my uterus. I’ve been married for three years and haven’t been able to get pregnant. My doctor said the fibroid could be the cause and that even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to carry the baby to full term. She’s suggested surrogacy! I’m still in shock and I don’t know what to do.-

Sorry to hear about this difficult news. one thing you should do though is consult a second or even third doctor for a different opinion! This is something that will confirm or infirm your doctor’s suggestion.Fibroids can indeed damage the uterus but some treatment can treat them before they actually damage it entirely. Of course it all depends on the size of the lump but some women with large fibroids have been able to conceive.
