Treatment For Fibroids In The Uterus

Natural Treatment for Fibroids – Shrink Fibroids Naturally

Many women seek out natural treatment for fibroids, having considered conventional alternatives which are not always acceptable. In reality, there is very little which doctors can do in terms of treatment to shrink fibroids other than giving hormone treatment which comes with terrible side effects such as menopausal hot flashes, osteoporosis and thinning skin. Even then, due to the side effects, this type of treatment can only be given as a temporary measure to reduce fibroids prior to surgery. Once the treatment is withdrawn , the fibroids will begin to regrow. The other alternatives include a hysterectomy or surgery to remove individual large fibroids. What must be considered here is that unless steps are taken to remove the causes of fibroids, they will begin to regrow within a matter of weeks.

The problem with fibroids is that they are largely lifestyle induced. This means that there is no “wonder drug” which doctors can prescribe to cure them. Indeed many doctors will recommend taking no action at all and leaving fibroids until they naturally shrink during the menopause. Now this might be fine if you are nearing the menopause or if your fibroids are small and not causing any symptoms. However for many women, this is not the case, with fibroids causing quite debilitating symptoms such as very heavy bleeding, anemia, bloating, bowel and bladder problems, breathlessness and sexual difficulties. The fact that fibroids are rarely dangerous leads some people to believe that doctors do not perceive the need to take action as they underestimate the suffering which many women go through.

There are a number of factors which are thought to contribute to fibroid formation and growth, the main one being an excess of the hormone estrogen. If you have fibroids, it is therefore sensible to take steps to reduce this naturally. As estrogen is both produced by and stored in fat cells, reducing body fat is a good natural way to treat fibroids. Exercise has also been shown to reduce estrogen in the body. Another source of fibroids growth is thought to be from pollutants which are present in the environment and which mimic the action of estrogen. The body tends to store these in the liver and some women have found that regular liver detoxing has helped.

There is no doubt that an effective treatment for fibroids has to use a multi-faceted approach as it is unlikely that there is just “one” cause in an individual. There are a small number of alternative practitioners who specialize in natural treatment for fibroids, but these are few and far between and can prove extremely costly. Shola Oslo is one such practitioner and she has devised an excellent, cost effective tried and tested system which has worked to eliminate fibroids in thousands of women worldwide. She offers this with a no-risk guarantee and you can take a look at the details by visiting Stop Fibroids If you would like further general information and learn all about the different types of fibroids plus the different treatments for each, please visit Natural Treatment For Fibroids

Do removal of uterine fibroids cause infertility?
I have two tiny fibroids in my uterine wall. It was discovered when i had a scan for fertility treatment. I am not infertile but have decided to go it alone with donor sperm. My consultant suggested a hysterescopy to remove them before starting IVF as the drugs stimulation would enlarge them and make them prod into my uterus which might prevent implantation. I am a bit concerned about taking them out because a few people have told me that taking them out will make it harder to get pregnant. Might cause scarring which would also affect implantation. I am getting mixed advice but any serious advice would assist. thanks so much. Avila

  3. QUESTION:
Large partially pedunculated fibroid leiomyoma 10.2 x 8.6 x 9.7 of the anterior uterus… HELP?
In a way I can tell I’m blessed why? In 2008 I used to blame myself and others who caused a car accident that I was in. I lost so much after that accident not being able to have the very good health and physic I used to have. From 162 no I weight 210. I went to so many doctors after my accident because my neck and back was really in pain. I finally found a doctor who did thank lord give me hope that everything could go back to normal. Until the other day my chiropractors to finish my treatment cause my insurance almost with no balance, he told me that he will MRI my back. When they did they found and confirmed that I had a herniated disc L5-S1 that this accident had make worst because a previous chiropractor told me I had a disc problem before 3 days before the accident etc… But that MRI for my back shows a growing mass inside my pelvic. They send me for a pelvic ultrasound. Also the days of the MRI my tummy to the right side move so much that was crazy and I was extremely dizzy. Result came like that:

    Age: 26
    Sex: Female

History: Pelvic pain with heavy menses.

Finding: utilizing a full urinary bladder as an acoustic window, the pelvis was evaluated and the uterus is in a normal anteverted/anteflexed orientation measuring 8.4 x 9.8 x 8.0 cm. The uterus contains a very large anterior complex leiomyoma, which measures 10.2 x 8.6 x 9.7 cm. The right and left adnexa are normal. There is no free fluid within the cul-de-sac.

Impression: There is a large soft tissue mass involving the anterior uterus almost certainly representing a large partially pedunculated leiomymoma, which measures 10.2 x 8.6x 9.7 cm. This is an otherwise normal study.

I had so many symptoms related to this now I realized when I make search, I though it was normal to have these symptoms or I was like that but I was in silence sick.

    • ANSWER:
Fibroids are clumps of uterine extra tissue overgrowths, some do not cause any discomfort and the ones that are larger and that will need to be surgically removed through an incision like a c-section to basically go into the uterus . If you are 26 years old, and want children, make sure that they leave your ovaries, tubes and uterus intact and NOT TO REMOVE THEM and only remove the fibroids. However, if your doctor suggests that something be removed so the fibroids don’t come back and start growing again? Ask him what your options are. Don’t be afraid to ask your doctor all the questions you have. Make a short list and take it with you to your appointment. Be ready with some questions.

You will be OK. Have faith, and speak to someone at Social Security and start some benefits, you need to speak to a counselor, a dietician, and you need alot of support, emotional and medically. And try to have someone with you all the time, because you shouldn’t be alone in this.

  5. QUESTION:
Hysterectomy, ovarian cancer and untrustworthy obgyn. How to find a conservative doc?
I went to the doctor for irregular period and was sent for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed complex cysts in both ovaries. There are no secondary signs of cancer such as ascites, lymph involvement, metastaes, but my doctor began saying “We assume it is cancer – you need to prepare for surgery and chemo.”

Off to the gynacologist she recommended and this guy says – it is a 15% chance it is ovarian cancer, and if it is we will perform a total hysterectomy. If it is NOT cancer…. we will perform a total hysterectomy. Now I found this disconcerting. I asked – why would you take both ovaries? His answer – because they might become cancerous. So why take the uterus? “Because that is what we do – we call it a total clean out.”

In the mean time, I consulted with the HERS Foundation and they went over my radiological reports and said that there were no signs that would indicate cancer. In fact, they said that the radiological reports were insufficient and needed to be redone – essential information is missing and some information just makes no sense (suspected findings – do you see them or not? That is the only question you are being asked radiology man!) They suggested I seek out an obgyn who would perform a cystectomy.

So here is my conundrum – two radically divergent opinions. I do not feel comfortable with a plan to remove a healthy organ (my uterus, which I have grown attached to!!) because that is “what they do.” In general, I feel as though this guy just wants to perform a hysterectomy regardless and I know it is not necessary if there is no cancer. On the other hand, I don’t want to delay and start the process over for fear that if it is cancer it might progress leading to the loss of my reproductive organs and all other signs of life.

Has anyone sought a more conservative physician for the treatment of cysts or fibroids? Is there any good way to expedite the process on the chance that the clock is ticking? I am in central Ohio if anyone knows of a good surgeon who isn’t slice-happy.

    Thanks for your time!
To clarify, I have had two radiologists look at my film, both of whom said that they saw nothing in the CT or sonogram to suggest cancer – none of the expected characteristics are there and some things that are there counter-indicate cancer. I understand that were the biopsy to come back, everything would have to come out, however if it is negative, there is no reason to remove healthy organs because “that’s what we do.” The gynecologist I was sent to is a one trick pony who removes all of the reproductive organs for cysts, fibroids etc.

My question is how to expedite finding a gynecological surgeon who will NOT mutilate me if it is not cancer.

    • ANSWER:
I HIGHLY recommend you check out www.hystersisters.com. They helped me EXTREMELY with my questions and advice on hysterectomies. It’s a support group and it’s FREE.

I wish I’d found the site before I had mine. A lot of my questions and concerns would have been answered with just looking at the responses on this website. But I stumbled on the site a few days after my hysterectomy and learned of various things I should do before the surgery, things I’m entitled to at the hospital (which the hospital doesn’t tell you), questions to ask the doctor, etc. It’s an awesome site for women.

I hope it helps you, it has helped me and my family and friends.
